This site, as a number of other Cebu related sites I own, was developed by me, Paul Petrea. I am an American who has been visiting in the Philippines since 1992. I arrived in Cebu to live full time in 2002, after realizing the Philippines is where my heart had been since my first visit.

On Tourism In Cebu, I offer the visitors to this site my direct advice on my personal experiences here. This includes visits to restaurants, resorts, hotels, and pension houses I have visited in Cebu, as well as places around the country. Anything, in fact, that I can add here, I will. I also will be happy to add, and give credit to, anyone else who wishes to add reviews or information regarding their experiences here.

One of the first things I will advise others who ask, is, make sure you don't go solely by my advice. Visit many websites and speak with others who are on the ground here. My experiences may not be anything like other foreigners who live here. But,  I do feel as though I see the Philippines in a different light than some. It seems to me that a number of foreigners tend to become very jaded, after living here for a length of time. That truly is a shame.

I recall when I first arrived in the Philippines and how intimidated I was by this new country and its people. It was completely different from the US, like being in another world, in fact. So much so that I was actually a bit uneasy at first. I remember how much I would have appreciated having someone whom I could relate to, on the ground (in the Philippines) when I first arrived.
